These Social Media Myths are Holding Back Your Beauty Business

There are so many myths and misconceptions that keep beauty business owners off of social media. These myths also keep business owners from feeling like they can be successful on Instagram. Here are four of the most popular myths that I hear from business owners about social media.

"I have to be on social media 24/7 to be successful."

While it may seem that the most successful people on social media are always posting on the apps, this doesn't have to be you. Think quality over quantity. If you post quality content every time you show up on the app, you will grow. If you want to be successful without being glued to your phone, choose an hour every day to post and interact with others. An hour is enough time to post, reply to some comments, and interact with your followers' posts.

"Social media takes too much work."

Growing successful social media accounts does take a lot of work, but luckily there are so many tools on the internet that will help you take the load off. Scheduling tools such as Later, Planoly, Tailwind, and Hootsuite are apps that help you schedule Instagram posts, Facebook posts, tweets, and pins. These apps allow you to schedule content for up to thirty days in advance and will auto-post for you.

"My audience isn't on social media."

There is a place on social media for almost everyone! You just have to find them. As a beauty service provider, your audience is 1000% on social media. You may find that your younger clients are on Instagram, Twitter, and Tiktok, and your older clients are on Instagram and Facebook. Your audience is there you just have to find them.

"I'm not good at social media."

No one is good at social media when they first start. It's a game of trial and error. Use the tips that you see from social media consultants like myself and slowly implement them into your social media strategy. The trick is to choose a few tips at a time, implement them, and wait. After thirty days, review your analytics. See what worked and what didn't and make any necessary changes.

Any of these sound like you?
